Christmas celebrations

December has arrived and Christmas is in the air! Yes things will be a little different this year but we still want to bring Christmas to the Erskine in the best way that we can.  Christmas is still going to be a time to relax, have fun and catch up with friends and family, just on a slightly smaller scale! So why not do all of this over a delicious meal?

Under current guidance we are able to take Christmas bookings up to 4 people from multiple households (or unlimited people from one household) however should things change before Christmas then we will happily amend your booking.  Best thing is to drop us email on info@erskinearms.co.uk or give us a ring on 01492 593 535 and we’ll do our very best to try and accommodate you during the festivities…please note the festive menu can’t be booked online.

All being well our Christmas menu will run from Friday 27th November to Wednesday 30th December 2020 (excluding Christmas Day) alongside our normal menu.

Christmas Menu

Our 3 course Christmas menu has been carefully created to include some new and exciting dishes alongside the traditional Christmas favourites.

Starters

Slow roasted onion & sage soup with goat’s cheese crostini (v, gfo)
Smoked mackerel paté with toasted sourdough, sweet pickled fennel & sticky beetroot chutney (gfo)
Crispy wedges of brie served with a pear, roasted plum and candied walnut salad (v)
Homemade black pudding bubble & squeak cake with a pan-fried hens egg & sun blushed tomato ketchup
Conwy mussels in a creamy mulled cider and bacon sauce (gfo)

Main Course

Traditional roast turkey breast & leg, pigs in blanket, sage & onion sausage meat stuffing, bread sauce, mash potato, goose fat roast potatoes, traditional gravy & seasonal vegetables (gfo)
Roasted pumpkin, puy lentil & pearl barley shepherds pie topped with sweet potato mash with pan fried mixed greens & glazed chestnuts (v, vg, gf)
Braised belly of pork with fondant potato, glazed carrot, sticky red cabbage, roasted fig, parsnip crisps & Calvados sauce (gf)
Grilled fillet of plaice on a squid ink & crayfish orzo pasta risotto topped with tempura baby vegetables
Slow roasted rolled welsh beef brisket with creamed savoy cabbage & bacon, fat cut chips, roasted pumpkin purée & sticky Guinness & treacle jus

Homemade Desserts

Luxury homemade Christmas pudding served with soused blackberries & brandy sauce
Sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream & butterscotch sauce
Tiramisu cheesecake served with Ferrero Rocher ice cream & a black cherry & kirsch compôte
Blood orange crème brûlée served with spiced honeycomb brittle and caramelised orange segments
Selection of Welsh cheese and biscuits with winter fruit chutney, smoked paprika & parmesan palmiers £2.50 supplement

2 courses – £21.95      3 courses – £26.95

Booking

Booking is required when dining from our Christmas menu.  Christmas bookings must be made by telephone or in person ONLY, they cannot be booked through our online system.  Please call 01492 593 535 to check availability and book your table.

Maximum party size – At Christmas we appreciate that many of our bookings are usually large festive parties with friends, colleagues and families getting together to celebrate the season however this year we are sadly having to cap our Christmas bookings to 4 people from mixed households or unlimited people from one household unless rules change before December.

Deposit – A deposit of £10 per head is required at the point of booking.  A pre order is not required this year.
